Searching in Firefox history

Featured Replies

Is it me or is this completely broken ?!?

If I go to my history, and say I want to view by site visited, I get a list of everything I've seen by site. Great :)

Now, I want to filter. As soon as you I type something in the search box, I get the search results, but they are listed alphabetically, and not by the criteria in the View drop down box. If I click on this and then re-select a category, it clears my search

edit: this is with version 3.0.5 for Windows

If you mean history as viewed in the sidebar that's just the way it is, I think, I get the same behaviour (3.0.4 on OpenBSD).

However using the search from the Library (CTRL-Shift-H) retains, and allows me to modify, the sort order.

Works fine for me.

CTRL+H to open the side bar, then search, and each view option can be applied.

Sounds like an extension you have is blocking this natural behaviour.

Thanks for the Library, Ant. Didn't know about that

Still have the issue with standard history though (Ctrl+H).

If I click on View and then by site and date, I get a Today, Yesterday, 2 days ago,... list. But as soon as I type anything into the search box, that sort order goes away and I just get an immensely long list which appears to be alphabetical. Once I have my text in the search box, if I go back to the View button and select another sort order, my original Search text criteria is deleted.

I don't have many extentions or add-ons installed

But what extensions do you have?

I suspect one or more is the route of your issues.

I have Adblock Plus 1.0

Foxmarks 2.6.0

ImageShack Toolbar 5.0.1.2 and

Opanda IExif 2.3

edit: FWIW, I've disabled all of them, restarted Firefox and still have the same issues

Could be your cache's borked. Id' try clearing that first.
