Guys I'm not having a service done until April time and I want to switch off the annoying warning. I tried following that of the manual but it doesn't work! Any ideas how to stop it without connecting it to VAG?

stick a piece of black insulating tape over the light??

I was just going to suggest the manual but you have mentioned that already, do you know anybody with Vagcom dianostics in your area?

Alledgedly it can be Reset with the following sequence, Although i have not tried it myself !!

To reset inspection or oil change warning :-

Push in mileage reset and turn to right. Turn ignition on and hold until you get 3 lines on the display.

It is now reset.

Hey! It worked for me on my airbag light, oil warning light and brake warning light...

I had to peel it off the petrol light though because I kept breaking down...

Why aren't you having a service done when it is due? :confused: What is left of your 2 year electrical and mechanical warranty may well be invalidated if you don't follow the manufacturer's service requirements.
