Octavia Estate (2008) - Tail Lamp Lens Fitting

Featured Replies

New to the forum, so please forgive my considerable ignorance.

My Mum's got a 2008 Octavia Estate and has broken the rear, nearside tail lamp lens.

I've managed to track down the right part (not expensive, either!) but wondered if a DIYer like me can easily remove the existing part and replace it with the new part.

Do I need any special tools or is it simply screwed in from the inside?

The car's not available for me to take a look (hence my ignorance), so I thought I'd better check before getting the part in only to find I can't fit it.

Thanks for your help.

Guessing it is screwed in from behind the plastic boot trim. If you look on VAGCAT.com there maybe an assembly dwg for the octy.

Hi..!

Dead easy to replace the rear lens. My wife managed to smash our Octavia Estate lens while reversing. As you say the part is very reasonable and it was a 5 minute job. Only 4 screws to undo, pull out the old lens and fit the new. Tighten the screws and Bob's your uncle.
