Calling all superb 1.4 TSI owners

Featured Replies

I am looking fro people who have bought the 1.4 TSI superb II. I am about to book this car and i am looking for other owners in order to ask their opinion about the car.

More specifically i am interested about the power of the engine. Are you satisfied with the output power? Many people in the forum don't like the idea of the ''small'' engine on this car.

Is fuel economy same as the advertised in the brochure?

I will be waiting for your answer.

PS: I live in Cyprus and the longest trip that a man can make in the island is 300 km.

I can't answer your questions personally and I haven't seen anyone with a 1.4TSI on this forum however there's a good report about one on the French forum - see Translated version of http://forum-skoda-superb.discuforum.info/t464-Ma-S2-TFSI-CONFORT.htm for a translation.

I did speak to a dealer who had driven a 1.4 TSI and he thought performance was ok.

I suspect how someone feels about the performance of a car depends in part on what they are familiar with. Someone into fast cars will no doubt find the 1.4 TSI slow. Someone with a modern diesel with plenty of torque I suspect will think it slow. If you have an old Mazda diesel like myself then the 1.4 could well be ok. Just wish I could find one to try.

The other problem with the 1.4 in the UK is they only come in the base spec. Cyprus may well be different though.

I will check the site.

In Cyprus the 1.4 TSI comes in elegance version(everything, except the wheels which are 17'' instead of 18'').

Thanks

Pity the Elegance or SE 1.4 TSI aren't available in the UK. I suppose Skoda UK decide what they want to bring into the country. Odd though about the decision to only supply the UK 1.4TSI in the S spec - particularly when it's available elsewhere in Elegance. Makes me wonder what their thinking is?

Can't imagine it'd be any worse than the 105PD...

i would say it would be better as the engine is more refined.
