On the new facelift, ESP is a factory fitted option for the S, SE & Elegance but is this applicable to the manual only being standard fit on the DSG? The reason I ask is that the 1.4 TSi DSG version has, at long last, just appeared on Skoda's website configurator. Selecting that model there is no ESP showing on the factory fitted options list although it does appear on the manual version's configurator. Have the DSG's always had standard ESP - or is it standard only on the new 7 speed - or have Skoda omitted it from their configurator in error

The new 7 speed DSG on the Octy 1.4TSi includes standard fit ESP and hill hold control.

ESP remains a factory fit option on the manual versions though.

I'm thinking of ordering a 1.4 TSI DSG Elegance, and intend to do as you did, testing the diesel DSG Octavia then popping over to VW dealer and trying a Golf with the 1.4TSI engine and DSG.

Any other comments/advice welcome.

There is an error (Saints preserve us) in the new Octavia brochure (page 22) - it states that the 1.4 TSI DSG is a 6 speed box but it is a 7 speed inc. hill start control and ESP - same as in the new Golf TSI DSG SE. Skoda UK did confirm.

Up to a 12 week wait for mine - bah!

Yes you can but it only comes with the 3 spoke leather steering wheel and not the 4 spoke.

There is a choice of two 3 spoke wheels for DSG one has radio, maxi-dot and paddle shift controls and the other is the same but adds Bluetooth HFT.

Skoda UK have updated their configurator at long last, it now shows the 1.4 TSi in DSG form.

The other point which was a little ambiguous concerned the Maxi-dot - the steering wheel options include this as well as the obvious steering wheel's control for it.
