Car Mod Advice Please!

Hi Guys,

What relatively inexpensive mods would you guys recommend to make the octavia mk1 tdi handle better?

Also I have fitted some Bora leather seats in my Octy, and they have a heated element, how easy is it to source the parts needed to make the heated seats work - i.e (switch and loom i guess) and how much would it cost?

Is there any significant difference in upgrading to the VRS braking setup, and how much would it cost for me to upgrade my elegance model?

Thanks for your input :)

Rear Anti Roll Bar is the cheapest way to improve handling, combined with an Audi S3 lower strut brace will tighten handling nicely while only setting you back roughly £200 for both

Don't know about this one TBH I think there might be a relay to add to that list but others will know for sure.

Plenty have done it and reckon it's a big improvement, as for cost's I'm not sure. Probably around £300 all in and almost certainly no more than £400. Compare that to the cost of aftermarket uprated disks and pads and It's quite reasonable.

Thanks for your input :)

Your welcome

get a Rear ARB mate. £150ish for the whitline 22mm adj or £200ish for a neuspeed 28mm ARB.

I wouldnt bother goin for the vRS breaks, save up and go bigger again (LCR brembo 323mm?)

then go for some coilovers(ride may be bit harsh) AP? or Weitec{£400-£480ish}(like me) or there is FSD + HR/Eiback springs

Better tyres, and more driving talent! Ok, the TDi does understeer eventually, but it's not really noticable until you're starting to fall out of the seat!

As for the brakes, unless you buy bits from a dismantler, you can't put vRS front brakes on any TDi except the 130 for £300; the calipers and hub carriers are different, so it's not just caliper brackets, discs and new pads.
