Fitting Kenwood DNX5220 whilst under warranty

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Just about to buy a brand new 'old' superb which will have 2 1/2 years warranty left to run.

It's the Elegance edition, so has the standard Skoda sat nav / audio unit.

I would ideally like to have MP3/WMA compatibility, but do not want to lose the Sat Nav. I am looking at possibly changing to the above mentioned 2 din unit, as I have found a very good price online - £499 incl vat.

However, I do not wish to void the Skoda warranty, do I risk doing so if I have the new head unit installed?

Does anybody have the kenwood and if so, what do you think of it?

Cheers:)

What is the 'old' unit?..I originally bought a kenwood dnx 7220 for my octy vrs..good bit of kit, but it just wasn't 'right' for the car..the lighting colours and style just didn't suit..sold it on fleabay, and bought a columbus.well happy now

Just purchased the kenwood for £499, Skoda said its ok to fit and will not void the warranty unless the unit itself causes the issue.

Can anyone recommend a place to get it fitted? I would ideally like to have it fitted professionally, so Skoda won't have any come back against me personally, if their is an issue with the fitting.

Cheers
