I understand this may have been covered before, but I'v done a search and cant find anything.

I'v got an 07 Octy vRS PD on variable servicing, and was wondering if its possible to display when, or how many miles till the next service.

Any advics would be much appriciated.

Ignition on, engine off, press and hold trip counter reset button on the dash itself, after a few seconds the distance to service will appear.

If maxidot is fitted, make sure seatbelt warning etc is not showing.

I've just bought a new to me Octavia 1.9 TDi PD 4x4 elegance, tried this reset and ignition and it says Service Now. How come it doesn't report this when I start the engine normally?

Is there some tweek the previous garage/owner could do to hide the service now indicator?

my octavia vRS did the same, im guessing it only warns you every 100 miles or so rather than every time you turn the ignition on
