Help! Fuel Filler Flap won't open

Featured Replies

I went to top up with fuel this morning and the fuel filler flap wouldn't open. Is there anything I can do, or does it mean a trip to Skoda dealership?

Thanks for any help

I have the same problem with my Octy, I had to give the fuel flap a firm 'hit' with the palm of my hand to open it. Once opened I found that the inner section was cracked, this allows the sprung latch pin to move away from the flap.

Alternatively the locking pin might not be moving back. When you unlock the car you should be able to hear the soleniod open by the filler flap. Try unlocking the car with the remote, but don't open the door after 30 seconds the car will lock itself, when this happens listen at the flap and you should hear the pin move back in to lock the flap.

Otherwise it's a trip to the dealers, assuming you have enough fuel.

Thanks very much for your help simbo99 and moley. Thankfully the locking/unlocking method worked!
