Octavia Wheel Noise

Featured Replies

I have a 52 plate Octavia 1.9 Tdi.

I was having some noise from the powersteering which seem to have gone once I topped up the reservoir.

I have another noise problem. Going in a straight line I seem to get some noise and very slight vibration , turn wheel to left slightly it then disappears, turn to right it gets louder. Appears to be at any speed, if on motoway and turn wheel right slightly then noise is louder.

Not sure if its related to the power steering top up issue, the level was 15mm beow the min when I topped up

thanks for any help

hi if your pump is wining you may have a air blockage & check hub nuts and bearings on both sides as they both can go but only one side can be noticable

hope of assistance

Could be a bearing. Welcome to the site.

welcome along

Hiya.

There's a number of things this could be. It might be better to place the query on the Octy 1 forum.

Hi

Thanks for your help, is there an easy way to check bearings or is it a visit to the garage?

Thanks

Not really on the Octy; there's a standard technique for most wheel bearings, but I have it on good authority that this doesn't apply to the Octy.
