Removing Decals

Featured Replies

I think it's about time I remove the decals from my car, I'm bored with the look of it now :) I wouldn't have paid for the decals myself but they were already on the car when I purchased it!

If I was to get them removed, do you think marks will be left on the paint work? Or will it look as if it never had them on there in the first place?

Sorry I couldn't explain what I meant properly, I'm tired and can't think straight :P

Here's the car if you want to have a look. As you can see, the decals are fairly large and I don't want marks left on the car when they are removed!

Pretty sure they won't leave any marks that can't be polished out...

I have one or two to remove shortly.......

I once removed side stripes from a Scirocco I bought. They'd been on a while, but a heat gun, some meths to get rid of the glue, and a polish, and you couldn't tell.

If the rest of the paint on the car is in good condition it will be fine- if the uncovered paint is badly faded the areas where the decals are will show.

I hope you were joking :D

Makes me want a silver car so you can 'carefully' remove them and send them to me :D

Hehe, I'll get the stuff together next weekend and remove them, fingers crossed any marks polish out :D

Nope. they've been on since the CZ trip way back in '07

Always said I'd remove them when I got back, it's just taken a while to get round to it :D

they'll come off fine, just take care if using a blade to lift the edges then peel off.

hot air always helps, if you dont have a heat gun, try a hair dryer or even a kettle of hot water.

run over the area that had the stickers with some polish and you'll never know they were there.
