removing tranport tape goo

Featured Replies

i found a load of sticker goo on my sill after getting my car which I assume was from the tape used when transporting it. Ive tried a couple of things to remove it, soapy wash, isopropyl, bug remover to no avail. The dealers have been fine and said drop in anytime and theyll clean it off but ive not been that way in a while and it will probably cost more in fuel/tunnel charges than to but something to remove it myself.

anyone got any pointers on what I need to buy to remove it easily?

Label remover?

Something like Label Remover > Maplin

PS Looks like you have left the Island Green club too!!

cheers andy, my mate works as a printer so is bound to have some of this to borrow me :D

Yup, px'd the island green L&K in last november. Was sad to see it go until i felt the acceleration in the new one :D

When I've had to get stickers etc off windows I used WD40. Came off lovely.

yep, I'd try WD40 too -according to their site:

"WD-40 removes sap, tar, adhesives, labels and tape from surfaces without damaging existing paint. It's an effective cleaner for tools, equipment, and vehicles. Use it to remove bugs from the front of cars... "

I'd have chucked back at the dealer for not PDI'ing it right!
