  1. Well I hope they fit because I ordered them anyway. Dealership parts said it was unspecified and if it had been up to them they wouldn’t take the risk and left it on me. I hope I can take a mould and fit rally-look flaps or they’ll be fitted on. I’ll post updates accordingly
  2. I did get that information after 1 minute of googling but it does not answer any of my initial questions above. Those options are not given when searching for the RS variant (or when speaking with the part department in Skoda -under the VIN), thus my threat asking if anyone has experience or advice. Thanks
  3. Haha! I have discovered that first hand! what makes most sense to me is white lithium grease for most applications but I'm not too sure if that will interfere with any signals of sorts and showing that the door/bonnet is open while its not for instance. All the hinges I sprayed it too have not collected any dust so I'm confident in that
  4. Thanks for the replies! I was refering to the 'classic' WD40 my bad! In my discovery I spray a bit of white lithium grease. While researching if it was OK to do the same on the Skoda, I came across many references that I need to use VAG specific product specially for the sunroof (and this costs €70!!!). Audi forum guys where very specific to not use anything else and that kind of worried me. For door locks/jams/checks I read various opinions on using white lithium grease, dry lubrican, dry graphte lubricant, general purpose oil, even gun maintnenace oil! It can drive a man insane 🤪
  5. Hello everyone, Is there any document to specify what type of lubrication I need to apply to various places on the car on a timely schedule? What I’m asking for is the door, bonnet and boot locks/jams, hinges and retainers, the sunroof guides and mechanism, window seals etc… I keep a schedule of detailing (in depth cleaning, waxing and leather care) of the vehicle and when I was searching for what types of lubricants to use the internet throws at you a million different things. On my other older vehicle, I used white lithium grease for the door hinges, sunroof guides/rails and only wd40 for the door/bonnet/boot locks (as I was advised by someone who works at a bodyshop). Reading up on these I believe that these are either wrong or not the correct lubricants for each use. Having said this I do realise that we live in a world based on marketing and each and every part might have its own specified spray etc… but I just figured since I am doing the work to do it right and maintain the parts correctly. Other VAG forums also give the impression that the very specific products have to be used as to not cause any further damage. I asked the dealership if they take care of these things on the service maintenance schedule but they said not (especially the sunroof). Every video and search gives a different approach and how a different product works better and this keeps getting more confusing the more you read up. Car in question is an Octavia vRS 2025 and I'd like to start the process with the correct products. TIA
  6. Good afternoon everyone, I Want to fit mudflaps on my mk4.5 RS Combi. I have seen online some posts of people who have fitted the mudflaps of the sportline to their pre-facelift. Is this the same for the facelift 2025 as well? My other option is to fit some rally style universal ones but figured if the genuine ones are not as expensive to order those so I can make cutout. Any advice or info anyone can share regarding this matter? Do the Sportline ones fit the facelift 2025 Combi? Any brand of rally style ones that fit this model (rallyflapz and rallyarmor do not make any for this model)? Thank you
  7. Thanks for your replies all. My issue is that I’m finding it difficult to get these brands here. Most places I’ve seen tend to have some brands than even google finds difficult to recognise! I’ve searched about importing from UK but shipping and tax seems ridiculous. I think my most safe option is to order the genuine one hence my initial post but can’t seem to find any photos of the 380L and 400L ones fitted to An Octavia to see how it looks. They do seem quite practical from the little information I can find online though
  8. Hi Everyone, Does anyone have the original Skoda roof box 380L or 400L fitted to their Mk 4/4.5 Combi (preferably RS) and willing to share some hotos? I'm considering ordering one and would like to see how it looks. Also feel free to share any experience/advice with the original or even aftermarket roof boxes as I've never had one fitted on any car before. Is the original the one to go for or an aftermarket would be better? Same for roof racks? Thanks
  9. I wouldn't have tried it either as I don't usually "treat my cars that way", it was a spur of the moment thing and then the next day was a more of a why did it not work type of trial. My main concern now is by what I described above, can anyone tell if I damaged anything or by doing so if I might have 'initiated' a future issue with the transmission? (Yes, I do have this tendency to overthink and worry about minor things)😐
  10. Good morning all, I tried to use launch control a couple days ago as noted (manual, online and as the sales person explained) - car in sport mode, brake pedal pressed and accelarator pressed. After doing all these, the car felt it was trying to drive forward and I was holding it with the brakes (no launch activated) so I didn’t proceed. Last night I tried again as when I searched it the day before I figured it was because I had not pressed the accelerator pedal fully the day before, but it was the same thing. Having pressed the accelerator full though it was as if I could actually feel the clutch slipping! - No launch control indication on dash and definitely did not feel like it. The car drove fine after that for the remaining 500m home. If indeed there was clutch slipping involved is that an indication that I maybe damaged something? Anything or any way I can check by driving the car? It's a 4.5 Octavia vRS Combi (10/2025) DSG and just ticked over 3800 miles (6150Km) - and that's the only reason I've tried this. Figured I might as well try it now that it's fully broken in and honestly not something I tend to do with my cars. Thank you all
  11. Hi all, Just went to see our new 2025 Combi RS at the dealership which they will prepaire and deliver on Monday. Quick question if anyone can help as this is a Cyprus spec car and not a UK one but here goes, When we were ordering the car, the salesman called and said that when he optioned the Family Package option it could not be selected (I think due to the RS suedia interior). I was not sure what that included (because neither did the Skoda delaership!) but today when I checked the car it did not have the rear sleeping headrests, rear side window shades, boot floor aluminium partition, variable boot floor and the undertray under the boot cover to lay jackets etc... Now that got me really dissapointed, not that its a deal breaker but still i'd love some of those accessories for day to day practicality. Does anyone know if I can retrofit these items? What I'm especially interested in is the boot floor aluminium partition (which I cannot find it as a standalone accessory kit) and the rear wind-up/sleeping headrests. I think the aluminium partition needs to have the variable boot floor in order to fix it to as there is no location to fit it in place otherwise. Any suggestions or any info from anyone who has these fitted would be great and much appreciated
  12. I am in talks with Ireland. That was my other option. Although it adds up to be a lot more expensive they also do not have the panoramic roof and the rear airbags (Crew or side protect option I think its called) on the configurator. UK spec has all the option I want except the interior. Ireland doesn’t have the aforementioned ones.
  13. Hello to everyone, I'm fairly new to the Skoda (and VAG) family). With the family growing though and in need of a bigger second car, I found that the Mk4.5 Octavia Combi is the ideal car for me (yes the vRS is perfect as I'm a big rally fan and car enthusiast). The problem I'm facing is that the Skoda dealer in Cyprus cannot (or will not) provide me with the facelift Mk4.5 Octavia vRS Combi. I am now trying to purchase the car from the UK or Ireland as I need it to be Right Hand Drive. The only deal breaker for me is that the UK spec vRS does not have the option for the RS Suedia interior (electric + Memory seats). I have spoken to the Customer Service department to see if this is final or if this option will be added in the future and they have said that they are still configurating the cars and that it is not confirmed if they will keep it like this or if they will add it. They also do not know when it will be added (if it will be added that is). And so I turned to the forums. Anyone have any info on this? Anyone remember when the MK4 was introduced if it was the same situation? Any tips on how I can request this? Thank you for your time
