Bye-Bye, Skoda......

Featured Replies

Bye, Guys and Gals, and :thumbup:thanks to everyone for making this a brilliant owners' forum: I must add a special thanks to Lummox and VRStu for their help over the last couple of years....... it's company car change-time again, and no way do VAG engines match up in terms of tax-efficiency with............ BMW!!!!!! so it's defection time, I'm afraid, albeit reluctantly....... a difference between 21% (Skoda) and 15% (BMW) on car benefit assessmentjust cannot be beaten from a purely financial point of view, wiping out even the price hike,so that the BMW works out cheaper monthly in tax, AND in fuel!!!!!!! Thanks again, one and all....... I may well be back, when we're all made redundant, and I need to BUY a car for the first time in however many years!!!!!!

Well, as a private buyer I have just left BMW and bought a Skoda so everything remains in balance!

Enjoy the bimmer, they are lovely cars and not as expensive to run/service as people think.

Hehehehe..... coupled with (supposedly) 54.3 mpg from the 2 litre twin turbo........ a green one, perhaps?????? The strange thing is, that it is cheaper to lease than a new Vauxhall Insignia (admittedly, top of the range version).........:rotz:

Does a 1 series BMW compare with an Octavia? Its smaller, surely?

Yes, but I wanted something a bit smaller, and with only two doors so ma-in-law can't get in!!!!!! it's the coupe I'm getting, cos it looks pretty........ midlife, or what!!!!!!!!

1 series coupe? seeing them more often lately, nice looking car

Nearly as good-looking as an old 3.0 CSL (and better than any of the '02 series).

That's what I thought....... not the usual bloated thing that most bimmers have become of late........
