Bolero for the Roomster?...Some Questions...

Soooo....

I finally got a roomster last week and whilst it was at the dealers getting a few extras that I wanted fitted (bumper protector & door sills) I also got the dealer to fit the Denison 100 in the back of the standard Dance Radio for connecting and controlling my ipod through the head unit. Anyway, long story short, I'm more than a little disappointed with the limited extra functionality that the Denison gave.

Basically, all you can do is listen to the ipod and skip track... and that's about it.:grumpy:

Supposedly the Denison Gateway has the ability to browse the ipod through a radio head unit so it seems that its the Dance Radio doesn't support this functionality - wish i'd have known what it did before I shelled out - So basically I'm now looking to purchase a new head unit that allows navigation of the ipod.

After lots of research :coder:it looks as though the Bolero is the best solution with the MDI cable with regards to ipod navigation. See the pictures in the link below:

Although this is from the VW forum i believe that the RCD510 head unit and the Bolero head unit are basically the same. This being the case I have a couple of questions with regard to fitting one into my Roomster.

1. Is the dashboard aperture the same for both the Dance Radio and the Bolero Radio? (they look identical but i just thought i'd check)

2. ...This is a more specific Roomster question - i have got the maxidot installed in the Roomster but it seems to have a limited functionality with regards to the information displayed coming from the Radio (the top two lines only). This differs from other maxidot displays I have seen both in other Skodas, VWs and Seats. So I was wondering if anyone knows if the Bolero will talk to the Roomster type maxidot (don't know if the same part no as other maxidots with different info in their display) and also if it may give the maxidot any extra display functionality with a little tweaking maybe?

So... not exactly concise but any help or advice would be much appreciated.
