Battery cover

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

For some reason the battery cover is broken for my superb. It doesn't actually look like the correct part. Could someone check out their mark 1 superb battery cover underneath and give me the part number please?

Going into a dealership and letting them enter your registration number will pull up the correct part number for you.

They should just have the plastic plenum chamber cover that slots into the scuttle trim and a small retangular cover over the battery itself.

Ahhm thats popped off and dropped down the front of the engine at some point and has been rubbing on the viscous fan, quite common that,

8D***** number is the part number.

nice to know its another common fault. I will fabricate something when i get a new one. Thanks

Make sure the battery cover preloading leaf spring is correctly positioned on the battery negative terminal. This lifts the LH (as you look at it) side of the cover when you slide it free of its latches.

This was another part of my car damaged by the dealer before I got it - probably by careless use of booster cable clips. Thanks, Rainworth Motors.
