Door Mirror Problem?

Featured Replies

I just noticed today, that when i have my Mirror Adjuster in the 'R' Position, and make any adjustments, BOTH mirrors adjust.

If i move the knob up, both go up; If i move it down, both go down; If i move it right, LH Mirror goes left, RH Mirror goes right; If i move it left, LH Mirror goes right, RH Mirror goes left...

I'm sure this didn't do this before - if i make adjustments with the Adjuster int he 'L' Position, only the LH Mirror moves, as expected...

Problem? Or just something i've not noticed before?

It's supposed to do that. You can configure it not to via Maxidot.

I'm poor, don't have Maxidot...

You can turn it off via VCDS too. Crap feature IMO.

Ah balls to it, haven't noticed for nearly 2 years, and not long left til i get rid of it...

Very handy feature when there is more than one driver of very different sizes!! Would be better if I had memory seats too!

Please, try to rotate the mirror knob one whole round (anti- or clockwise) and tell me if the two mirrors decouple or if I remember wrong...

I fully agree about the usefulness of the linked mirror feature. It is standard on the whole VW range.

It only takes a few goes to get used to adjusting both mirrors and then tweaking left mirror.
