Any info on seat belts

Featured Replies

We need to change the drivers seat belt superb 130 tdi as it wont retract by its self, but have been warned that there is a safety device that could explode, if not done properly

Any advice please, and would a belt from any Skoda VW do in its place

I seem to remember a thread about this that suggested cleaning the belt when fully extended might do the trick. Can't remember what was suggested to clean it though :o

Probably WD40 or something :D

have you had the water problem? My one retracts slowly too. So i pulled it to the max a few times, gave it a good clean and it improved to bearable levels

have been warned that there is a safety device that could explode, if not done properly

The explosive device is usually in the base of the seat, not the seatbelt :/

I've currently got this problem, I'm pretty sure cleaning the belt/receiver will help!

I have given the belt a good clean and the receiver and its starting to retract, while doing it I found that if you put the height adjuster to the top and press the button it goes in as normal,

I will somehow have to strip the height adjuster down and give it a good clean, and also try to fix the ratchet to stop it sliding down on its own when the belt is pulled out
