Does anyone know if I can get the Central Conveneince Unit part number off VAG-COM?

Not sure if you're registered for VAGCat.com but this page shows the part numbers, but they vary depending on whether the car has an alarm and interior monitoring or is just central locking and nothing else:

KOMBI+WEGFAHRSP VDO V03 as well as the chasis number.

I take it this is the reference I will need to get the correct replacement part?

Component: 3Y Tõrsteuer.FS KLO 0004 Door control unit, but which one? The part number ends with an even digit, which makes it a right hand, the letters FS stand for German words which mean 'front'.

What you have there is from the instrument panel, address 17 and not 46.
