Removing dried on grass?

Featured Replies

Hello, thanks to some idiot from Dacorum borough council and his grass strimmer my back bumper is now covered with loads of flecks of grass. These have now dried on as I didn't notice them for a couple of days. I've tried hosing them off and using a sponge which hasn't really worked. Any ideas how to get this stuff off without damaging the bodywork?

Cheers :)

Failing that, you could always clay them off...

What works for flies is moist kitchen roll left in place for a few hours.

Clay bar is probably a more guaranteed result though

Thanks guys. I got the worst of it off with a sponge and warm water and car shampoo and a lot of elbow grease - just got to wait for it to get blasted with grass again (no where else to park at work)

if you have snow foam use that, otherwise an old towel soaked in warm water placed over the grass and left there for 5 minutes should soften it up enough to cause it to just come off.

First thing in the morning when the car is covered in dew, they'll wipe straight off. Good for bug splattered bumpers as well.
