Wiper mod complete

Recommended Posts

The final part of the wiper removal happened late yesterday evening as the sun was setting. Super-glue'd the (painted black & lacquered) rubber bung into the gap in my rear screen. Painting it definitely made it look a lot better than the bare dark grey'ish colour of the rubber itself. :) (and yes, I know I need to get rid of the duck tape residue.... Will break out the tar remover at some point :o)

Yeah - they sell a kit with I think a 19mm, 22mm and a 24mm bung. The 24mm is the best fit. I also noticed one pack with 3 25mm bungs and was tempted, but thought I would try and the varied pack first. The 25mm bung may fit more snug than this 24mm, but the glue holding it on will seal it well, and the fit still needed "mild pressure" to get it through the glass all round. Cost was about £1.50 from Halfords and it's located in their rack of "trim" bits & bobs.

Forgot to add, I also have some very decent G3 & G1 (from Gtechniq) glass lubricant stuff to apply today. G3 is the higher performing one which is going on the back screen. The G1 is not as good, but fine for a front windscreen as it's designed to last longer and smear less. The G3 does smear but that doesn't matter with no rear wiper. :D
