Please find me one!? Please..........?

Featured Replies

Hello there all you Skoda enthusiasts!

I would like to say that it is a pleasure to finally be posting on here!

I must admit I have had my views on Skoda transformed over the last year or so from the old wheelbarrow with two exhausts jokes to realising just how amazing they now are!!

As such I have even decided to buy one......and this is where my dilema begins.....

I own an ageing SEAT ibiza 1.4 98 reg. It is clapped out and needs replacing VERY soon. Scrappage probably.

I have fallen in love with the new Octavia 1.4 TSI S Model as have a lot of people.

Does anyone know how on earth I might actually get hold of one before the next ice age?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Look forward to chatting soon,

Rich

Have you tried going to a dealer and ordering one?

Or are you inferring that there is a long waiting list/lead time? If so, then not really... the robots only build them as fast as they can!

Your'e going to have to join the queue and place an order like everyone else as the 1.4 TSI has proved to be VERY popular .................. better get in quick too if you want to take advantage of the scrappage scheme.

Whereabouts in the country are you??

I really wish people would enter that info on their profile, even a rough county! Can we make it compulsory :rubchin:

Sniff - Ah well I thought it was worth a try - I was indeed referring to the looong lead times on this particular car. I suppose I will have to order one and wait.......booo

Oh and I'm in London by the way - I have adjusted my profile ;)

Cheers folks, I will let you know if I find one and take piccies

hi mate try giving Rainworth skoda a ring (01623 623400) i know they have had a LOT of them in, plus you would be buying from a very good dealer,(speaking from experience) they have won dealer of the year!!!, so they must be doing something right, they also deliver nationwide

I ordered a 1.4 TSi Elegance DSG last Feb. and took delivery in early May. There is a member on this forum who ordered his 3 weeks after mine and his estimated delivery has been put back to October - so I was lucky. Think you will have a considerable wait on your hands - although it's worth it, it's a terrific engine and the car is a pleasure to own and use. I'm beginning to think I'm the sole owner of a 1.4 TSi DSG in the UK? :D

Forgive me for swearing, but SEAT that are the same vehicle but with a different body shape and name are also doing them and you still get the 3 year unlimited mileage warranty

the 1.4 TSI replaced the 1.6FSI

You might be able to get the 1.6FSI at a good price though if you love the Octy but take a test drive as you may find you like the 1.4 better

Seat I believe do not offer the 1.4 TSi with a 7 speed DSG ?

I would be very surprised if you did not, the1.4 TSi being vastly superior and in a different league to the 1.6 FSI.

Even Skoda have to progress.

The Skoda 1.4TSI engine is the turbocharged-only variant (not twin-charged) which came second.

Still a very impressive powerplant:thumbup:

Thought Seat's advertising slogan for the 1.4 TSi Leon was quite apt, it goes :-

" The new Seat Leon with TSi technology.

You don't need to put your foot down to feel the acceleration, one toe will do "

Thanks for this. Do you happen to know which model this is from SEAT? Is it the Leon?

I have also contacted Rainsworth Garage as suggested above, I will let you know if I have any luck.

Cheers,

Rich
