Another NZ Octy - cool! And looking at your gallery yours isn't the black combi around with a Briskoda sticker I saw on the Welly motorway a few weeks back so there are at least 3 of us on here.

Woohoo! Helloo! There's an intermittent user in Wellington with a Felica Fun pickup as well.

Nice head unit, I have the same one but with green lights :D:thumbup:

Tidy :)

Good choice of music too, Mike Brewers band!

Im sure i read somewhere, that there is 2 connections, a USB, and an ipod lead. Different ipods require different leads for complete compatibility.

Im sure the problem is that touchs/iphones have to be connected via the KCA-422i ipod cable. I know thats how my Touch (version 1) is connected, and works perfectly.

What ipod are you having problems with?

My iPod's a 5th Gen iPod video - it interfaces perfectly with the head unit except when you turn off the ignition it happily keeps playing tunes to itself until the iPod battery goes flat.

I'll try the USB, see how that goes.

ahhh i think that maybe too do with the wiring loom in vag cars. You may need to swap the switched live and permanent live in the HU wiring loom - they are usually read and yellow (sometimes red and orange), as VAG cars have them the wrong way round compared to many cars.

If they were the wrong way around it would lose its memory on shutdown wouldn't it? Like my old one did when I first fitted it :D

If it holds it's memory than you have wired it correctly. But when I fitted mine the two problems I had where the unit not turning off when switching off the engine and the iPod not playing. The on/off problem was sorted with switching the wires and the iPod with the correct lead? Not sure other wise sorry.

I'll try the USB connection this weekend, see how it goes :)

I'm not sure the other USB slot is a fast enough connection, I tried connecting mine to the USB lead that comes out the unit with the apple iPod lead and would not work?
