Clutch feels strange

Featured Replies

I've had my new Octavia Elegance 1.9 estate a week now.

Very pleased with it so far, but still coming to terms with the performance after moving from a Fabia vRS!

One thing I have notices is that when I put slight pressure on the clutch I can "feel" a slight rumbling/juddering through the clutch pedal. Is this a trait of the 1.9?

Also, does anyone else have problems opening all the doors from the remote. On my Fabia it was a double click to open all the doors and the boot - doesn't always work straight away with the Octavia.

Thanks for your help

I'm not sure if what you describe above is the same thing I feel in our 1.4 TSI (brand new, only a week old).

I can best describe it like a "grainy" feel as the clutch engages in 1st gear as the car starts to take off. It's probably not anything big, but it's certainly there (not enough for my wife to notice, however).

The 1.4 TSI demo car we tried before buying actually felt the same way, now that I think of it. Maybe it's just the nature of the 1.4 TSI Octavia clutch. Any ideas?

Mentioned it to the dealer and said their demo had the same feel to it. He responded the demo car - to him - felt no different than any other Octavia he has driven. Well, beats me. Maybe I'm just too damn sensitive (actually, I know I am :D).
