Parrot - What should I do.....

Featured Replies

In the vRoomster I had a Parrot MKi 9000 which I think is brilliant, especially as I have an iPhone 3G setup with it.

But, I picked up my used Superb last week and it has a Parrot 3100 fitted, a pro install and located nicely. Whilst it won't stream music or charg a pie phone it does do the hands free bit pretty well and works with the iPhone.

So, do I rip out a perfectly good parrot 3100, take out the MFD and fiddle about fitting the MKi9000 or just burn a few CDR's, chuck 'em in the auto changer and sell the MKi9000

I don't know?

How much space is there behind an MFD in a Mk1 Superb to locate Quadlock adapters and a parrot control unit? The Superb unusually has a Bose DSP fitted as well, so am wondering if the MKi 9000 would actually work with it for music playback as it contains it's own amp that drives 4 speakers, how would the Amp / DSP cope with that.

opinions folks .... what would you do ? :)

if the 3100 is fitted and works well, I'd personally keep it.

yeah me too mate tbh. keep it if it works ok

Both of you are right I am thinking :)

I can spend the time on the bike or with the kids instead of swearing at the superb dash whilst fitting the other kit :D

Yep, love my back to basics 3100.

And there is virtually NO space behind the MFD in a Superb. You should be able to locate bits next to the glovebox etc though.

Aye Tom, the thing that would be a pain is the Take off lead that goes Quadlock female / quadlock male with the ISO plugs running off it.

It would be a bugger to find out that it did not work with the DSP as well if that was the case, I feel another for sale thread coming on :)

I may keep the piephone holder and mount that to the screw behind the trim panel, presuming that just prises away gently ala Octavia etc.

I'm pretty certain its screwed in??

Keep it in Tony - go with what you know :) And you know the 3100 works :)

I read the thread title earlier and thought 'Monty Python'. You very nearly had a completely different answer to the one I gave, I'm telling you!
