Would a front bonnet grill on a 51 plate be the same as a 54 plate grill?

I know there was a facelift some where around 2002 but just unsure as to whether the grills were changed.

Facelift happened in 2001. If you have a vRS, all Mk1 VRS models were the facelift version, so a 2001 will be the same as a 2004.

Thanks for that. The grill I have seen for sale is off a classic tdi I think, is this still the same grill?

If it is a grille from a 54 plate, then it should be fine on the vRS.
