Strange noise??? Any ideas?

Featured Replies

Strange one this when ever i leave my car parked up even if it's for 5-10mins when i drive away about 50 yards down the road i always get a sort of clanging/ spring type sound it's farily loud, only does it once and then never again, until of course you park up again.

The car drives fine with no noise from the suspension, which is fsd's and h&r springs, got new droplinks and wishbone bushes too? One thing i do need to replace soon is lower ball joint could it be that? unlikely im thinking. Could it been the spring?

Ive had a look and everything looks fine so im abit stumped, been doing for a while now, will get my mechanic to have a look when it's in for a service soon.

Any thoughts welcome thanks.

Is the handbrake sticking slightly, and throwing off as you start to move? I used to have an Astra that did that. Try stepping hard on the brake before letting the handbrake off, see if that changes things.

I've usually got this when the weather's a bit chilly. **** myself the first time it happened, thought I left the handbrake on when i pulled away, sounded like it completely snapped!
