Hi I am having a similar problem with my 04 VRS, car is very hesitant when just started it been like this for a number of months now but now the Engine Management warning light constantly on since last week, but temp guage on dash works fine??? I ran VAG-COM on the car and got error code 17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System(usually temp sensor or thermostat). The car runs fine most of the time but can feel quite sluggish at times, i am hopeing its all related. I just purchased a new Themperature Sensor today, i will replace later, hopefully this will be the end of this issue...i will keep you posted.;)
