is it possible to remove the black trimmings that run both sides of the car on the outside of the roof?

iam assuming they can be taken off to fit a roof rack or something, just dont know how to get them off?

any help or info much appreciated.

To fit a roof rack you just have to remove the 4 little capping pieces (about 50mm long each) that are fitted into the main black rails. You need to buy the correct type of 'feet' for your rack such that they can clamp onto the metal blocks that are under the caps. This is detailed in your owners manual I think.

To remove the black roof strips themselves, start from the back & with a flat-bladed screwdriver carefully lever up one side so that it pops off the plastic clip & then slowly work your way forward lifting & twisting slightly. To be honest though there is no real reason to remove these unless you suspect you have a leak under there, as there is nothing under them for a standard type roof-rack to clip to.
