Just inherited a Oct 2 PD140 DSG

Just inherited a PD 140 Octavia II DSG estate

Not sure I'm enjoying the DSG but the rest is all good!

I think it is an Ambiente (no fog lights)

Had a good read on here and the manual ( I know :rotz:)

Two questions

Is it work mapping with a DSG box on it?

Where the hell is the AUX in?

I presume it is a 3.5mm socket hidden away somewhere

Any ideas?

If I get on with it I reckon I'll look at a VRs CR

Hello and welcome, glad you're enjoying the car.

The AUX in will be in the centre arm rest or Jumbo box as it's known. Will be near the back under neath the lid. Likely you will Have rear electric windows too. Presuming you have a Stream MP3 HU.

Also go for the vRS TDi they are awesome.

I believe the DSG gearbox is close to the torque limit as standard. A remap would kill it unless it was a custom one to increase the power but not the torque (which seems pretty pointless).

The Aux in is a 3.5mm socket in the centre armrest in between the front seats.

This was only introduced on later cars and I'm not sure if it was present on all trim levels - do you even have a centre armrest?

I suspect you won't.

There are a number of reputable companies who will remap a TDI DSG - for example Jabbasport for one.

I believe that the power is raised to 170/180bhp and the torque delivery improved through the range.

The makers of the DSG box (Borg-Warner) do 'put it about' that the box is near it's maximum torque limit - no doubt they don't really want to see people doing anything that might result in failure and a warranty claim.

Cheers guys!

It is a Stream MP3 HU

Looks like there's no 3.5mm jack as there's no arm rest :(

Is it possible to retrofit it or maybe I'm better off going the Denison route to get charging and track info?

I reckon I'll leave the map and see how I get on.

Save it for a manual VRs ;)
