stage 2+ bluefin now on

Featured Replies

well i eventually recieved my autotech fuel pump internals for my car, so thought im might as well smash the bluefin fuel pump specific map on the car.

I went to AMDtechnik and got some before and after dyno runs completed,

stage 2 - 259bhp 289Ibft

stage 2+- 277bhp, 305Ibft(only 5 minutes of adaption time, it feels a little beter after a few hundred miles, definately less jerky)

ill upload a dyno plot as soon as i can get it scanned.(dyno run was done in 5th gear which i thought was strange as i thoght they did dynoruns in 3/4 gear????)

what the dyno run did pick up though was at 5000rpm whilst on the the stage 2 map, the bhp went down massively, from 260bhp, to 235bhp before coming back up, up until that point it was putting out good power. which explained my previously thought crapness of the map when i had a play with my mates revo stage 2 when he literally drove away from me once we reached 5000rpm

Fuel pump fitted stage 2+ map installed, but with only five minutes of adaption time for the map the following dyno run cleared that drop in power giving me oodles more grunt at the top of the rev range.

Alot of reviews on stage 2+ say that the torque in the mid range is massively increased, on mine i have pretty much a minimum 20Ibft increase in torque accross the whole rev range, but i have noticed more at the higher end of the rpm scale, above 4500rpm id say. it is noticably more powerful and picks up very well in all gears.

I do however think the car is not running correctly though. it might be paranoia, i have a feeling the air fuel ratio is a bit off as the fuel economy has gone through the roof, much more than i was expecting, I am going to a new intake, either forge twintake, or ITG, and i have the new BSH stage 2 upgraded PCV and catch awaiting delivery and then i will probably either go for a custom remap or REVO for a more aggressive setup.

For a free upgade it is definately worth the money, however i am keen to try it out against a REVO stage 2+....(IE MATER:thumbup:) when he is local to me, to see how it compares the result of which should help me decide on future remap options, hopoefully he'll help us with a bit of logging to see if there are any problems:O of which i hope there are none. although a faulty turbo could be the perfect excuse for the wife to go K04:rolleyes:

Well unless your around in the next couple of weeks you will have to wait till after Xmas as im away soon for a couple of months

boring!!! I like a bit of variety, is good for the heart

What do you want logging?

AFR

Fuel Trim

Boost Level

Cylinder Timing Angle

N75 Cycle

To name a few

from that list id guess at the AFR, fuel trim to see if i asm over fueling maybe. would definately be interested to see what boost it runs in comparison to yours, I dont think i have a boost leak so the N75 should be ok, your the guru with the lap top, im absolutely mince when it comes to computers.

im just wandering how much yurs is going to spank me, and what excuse ill be usnig

Time yourself from 50-100mph (on a private road of course ;)) in 4th gear and that will give you an idea of the difference in Torque levels.

To be honest i don't think there will be that much in it really

I've only got around 25lb/ft more than you and about 7bhp more so it's not exactly going to be ferrari vs fiesta :)

plus they are both blue. ill have a go at the timings you gave me the the rmonth actually,(forgot about them), i know just the bit of private land i can use, just need to get the key

true, i suppose it all ddpends on how much you are above it along the whole rev range, if it was consistantly 25Ibft, id imagine it'd be a fiar bit quicker

read somewhere that the PCV when gone tits up can make your car a little more thirsty so fitting this new BSH catch can could hopefully cure the problem i have.

Yeah im still waiting for one of those aswell
