This Weekends New Mods!

Featured Replies

I thought I'd chuck a couple of pictures up of this weekends modifications, Mainly for the OCC instalation, so people that haven't done it yet can get a couple of extra ideas on how to do it  Removing the lower pipe was a COMPLETE pain, the clip was a bugger and then the pipe broke off flush, so watch out for that one! The hosing and brass connectors came from Hyphose and cost me £30. I didn't have to cut the joiner down like other people have. Lastly, I fabricated my own bracket as the supplied bracket was a little short for where I put the can.

Lastly, my other little mods are for looks only, self explanitary really!

A HUGE thanks to Jay and Cliff for help sourching parts!

Very nice mate

I made my own fancy bracket this weekend too, I'll get some pictures up when I'm done painting it.

When done Tom. Nice Job

Thinking that I may have to fabricate a new bracket for mine as although I managed to fit using the original bracket supplied (after bending it) I still had to twist the Rad coolant hose down to allow the OCC to fit better which still does touch the coolant hose.

Bodge what does your bracket look like?

Thanks fellas :)

Mark, that's the problem I encountered, it sits behind the coolant hose now with the new bracket. I made it from a strip of ally from B&Q. If you need any, give me a shout and I'll put some through your door mate.

Here you are mate! It brings the can back enough so it clears the coolant hose, so when the engine rocks it doesn't wack it. It also makes the can sit nice and low, but not too low. I'll do a new thread showing it fitted once I've got all my bits together finally! It's made from steel, and is painted Hammerite Satin Black. It obviously mounts to the existing holes either side of the bonnet rod clip thingy.

That looks smart Bodge, I'd be interested to see it fitted!

Cheers Tom, I'm planning on trying something a bit different with the plumbing so I'll get a thread up when it's done.

I would if I could mate! Made it back at my dads workshop, as I fail to have such luxuries at mine!

I could take some measurements or a template off it though, so people would know roughly where to start. Better let me try this one out first though!

Don't suppose you know the bore size of the short 'S' hose that runs from the rubber T-piece up to the inlet manifold? You know, the one that always splits! Random question I know, but worth a squirt.
