Just recently purchased a new octavia VRS ltd edition 2009, my problem is when cold the engine noise is noticablely loud it sounds like a diesel until it warms up, which is several miles later. The garage compared my car side by side to another identical VRS and the other car was much quierter (could hardly hear it)

Skoda have informed me that it is normal !

They have had the car it in the garage several times, last time they replaced the injectors, but without success. and they instist it is the injectors that are making this noise, and there is nothing mechanically wrong with the car.

your comments and advice please, has anyone with a VRS encountered a similar problem.:(

They can be very noisy, especially if the secondary air pump is a bit flaky (easy fix), and the injectors and also quite loud. Clarkson once described the 1.8t as a 'diesel soundalike' If it runs well I wouldn't worry!
