Hello,

for about 2 weeks now the wipers have been working intermittently. Sometimes I push the stork up to turn the wipers on and nothing happens. Sometimes they work. If they don't work I either turn the engine off and start again if I'm parked or wait and try again in a few moment if moving.

What is happening. What has failed or starting to fail. The Relay??

Wiper relay, wiper motor, wiper switch.

Relay is cheap and easy to change, but IIRC really only comes into play for intermittent.

After that have a VCDS scan done (list of people with it on here) and if the switch isn't showing as faulty, I'd suggest the motor has seen better days.

If you replace the motor you might as well do the linkage at the same time or at least clean it up and grease it.

Mine did this when the linkage was seizing. Had to replace the linkage - works fine now.
