Realy silly accident.

Featured Replies

I was travalling down the A316 in london And the rain was monsoon like, I had my wipers on full but they where not touching it, then from nowhere white van man comes crashing through a lake on the inside lane, the very lake i was avoiding due not wishing to suck water into the ingine from my CAI, the lake was on the inside of a bend and their was no standing water in the outside lane, the van smashed through to lake and it was like being hit by a tidal wave, with that i suddenly relise im aqua-plaining on the water he waved over me and im going straight on across two lanes of on coming traffic into the lake on their side of the road and into the kirb at about 30 massive crash bang wallop I head butt my window and smack on the hazards get out and see my front alloy is broken i mean inly the nuts are left the rest of the wheel is under the car, phew i think the wheel took the punishment not the running gear, I change to the spare and take it to my mate, the car feels terrible, turns out the little accident has smashed the brake disk, bearing, arbs, the whole lot basicaly, to make it worse as the car hit the kerb it smacked the back end round and into the kerb bending the rear trans axle all in all about 2k to fix.So now i have choices do i sell the car, scrap it, break it and sell it for parts, i only had the car back 3 days after having a brand new turbo fitted :(. i woulda been more ****ed off if i breaked but i applied lock and floored the loud pedal but it was to late and was slow motion from then on.I can get the car fixed under insurance but is it worth it, they would prolly right it off, im well ****ed off and to make matters worse the R33 is crap in the winter so its not like im happy driving that.....

Must be that time of year! Some bender drove into my parked car yesterday. Not amused.

I feel for you mate, that sounds like alot of damage. I'd buy another vRS and use this one as a donor car. That way you can maintain the new one for pennies and keep it running for years with all the spares!

Hope you t£$tted the C$%£! What is it with ppl !

really feel for you both! just hope it doesnt happen to me, a cat went on my bonnet yest and sctatched a 2" scratch in it down to metal, needless to ay it got a swift kick up the **** just for bein on the car then I tried catchin it to ring its neck after I saw the scratch. If I catch it ill kill it!

Hope it all turns out ok for you, what colour is it? just if you decide to sell parts?

go through the insurance they will prob pay you out and then buy the car back off them for very little and then break it money money money it is a good way to make a few quid to get the car you want.

whats it realistically worth in its damaged state?

Not good :(

dibs on the drivers wing if the car is black lol, and the engine cover pins, and dependin on what you want for it the Bonnet grill lol.

Think I would either get insurance in or buy secondhand parts and fix myelf. The trouble with fixing yourself is when its done it may still not drive correctly, depending on the unseen damage.

Down to the metal, SOME CAT, what was it, an escaped Lion !

BTW just so you know, the penalty for killing a cat is up to 6 months jail and/or a £5000 fine.

Oh, and a criminal record of course.

I am sorry to hear of your problems, it is most unfortunate. White Van Drivers, I seriously think the government should look into the whole industry. Would you not be better off having your insurers deal with it, your going to have to buy another vehicle and they might settle up before you could put anything else into gear and possibly less hassle..

It has long hair and likes to ley in dirt, then it went on my bonnet and while moving around to get cozy it has scratched it, I have tried polishing it out with some sonus stuff but its still there. It was on there again this mornin as my missus pointed it out That thing can run, again It is lucky I didnt catch it!. Mud n **** all over now!.Bit off topic tho.let us know what you gonna do, I hope you get her back on the road, I hate seein cars get smashed.
