Vrs Cold Starting Issue

Featured Replies

Car will start fine, but instantly comes on with the low coolant/high engine temp warning light (Coolant level is fine just under max mark). Turning the ignition off and then restarting the car, will result in the warning light going out, and not coming back on again. This does not happen everytime, and seems to be on cold morning only. Any Ideas

Take a screwdriver and gently rub it along the two prongs in the coolant bottle. Basically you are scraping the crud off the prongs so they can read the resistance between each other again which will put the light out. Its a bit cheaper than buying a new bottle lol

Funny that, my 56 plate vRS TDI did exactly the same the other day, I wondered if it was due to the fact it was freezing. Thanks for the answer.

It happened on my mk1 but also happened on my Mk2 so I knew the fix B)

like to think that the basic tools and answers solve the problem, and in most cases in my experience they do. Nice one
