Symphony A04, USB adaptor

Featured Replies

New to the forums took delivery of a 56 plate Fabia VRS to repalce my 02 plate VW Polo. Now I have a difficult decision to make.

In the Polo I had an after market Sony stereo with a USB port and an Aux in, the stereo's colour and appearance fit quite nicely with the blue dash back light of the Polo and whilst the USB and general sound quality was top notch the radio reception was pretty poor, I listen to a station up here in Glasgow called Rock Radio and it doesn't have the strongest of radio transmissions, even with an after market signal booster wired in it was subject to constant break up.

So now I have the VRS the Sony still has the superb USB sound quality but will probably suffer from the same poor radio reception, which the OEM stereo doesn't, I kept the signal booster and ISO cables from the Polo. The blue lights on the Sony won't match the green of the dash and to be honest the OEM stereo doesn't sound that bad.

So I've got two options

1). Just go ahead and install the Sony

2). I could get one of these http://www.connects2.com/c2search.aspx?catID=53&manID=229&modID=551 it's a universal adaptor for aux in,usb and sd cards.

Price ain't an issue all I need to know really is will the usb adaptor work with the stereo I have in the car, the info says universal for Fabia but it only lists MS402/02 stereos and a quick check shows I have the Symphony A04.

Anyone had any previous with these things and if so what's the sound quality like, installation ain't a problem since I spend most days wiring in car stereos and fitting parrot kits anyway. I've just never had to wire up one of these bad boys before.
