octavia rs tuning?

Featured Replies

i am thinking of purchasing an octavia rs 1.8t and i was wondering what tuning you can do to take them to near 300bhp. i know you need to upgrade the k03 turbo to a k04 and would need a dump valve, uprated manifold, fmic, cold air intake, remap etc... just wondering has anyone on here performed such tuning and if so what modifications have they done. any response at all would be greatly appreciated. i know tuning of these engines is common among the audis, seats and volkswagens but havent seen to many skoda's running big power. it would make a great sleeper car and im a particular fan of skoda's having owned a diesel octavia and also regularly driven a fabia vrs. also what kinda money did it cost you to carry out the modifications. i have a limited budget of around 2k-2.5k.

Plenty of info on here if you do a search :)

Welcome to the site. 300bhp is certainly achievable but it'll cost you a fair bit more than 2.5k. I've spent over a nearly £1500 just getting mine to 225bhp. And then about a grand on handling mods so that I don't die when I use that power

what mods did you use to get 225bhp? i would have thought a simple remap and k&n panel filter would have got those kind of gains. what handling mods did you add? all information is appreciated as i want to do a proper safe job. power is no good if u cant keep it on the road. lol

you maybe getting confused lol k04 will not get you 300bhp straight out of the box

nor is a standard car with a map going to get you 225bhp

the best bet is to do some research and see what you wanna do....as i think you maybe jumping into this with no idea of actually what is needed.

i will tell you anything you need to know if you have a realistic goal as £2500 is not realistic for usable 300bhp

have you been in a vrs with 225 bhp and suspension setup ??? you might be shocked

all the ebst

clive

p.s there are lots and lots of skoda's running big power up to 600bhp

To get to there, I've done the following:

Carbonio CAI

Forge slicione hoses and TIP

Forge 007P recirc valve with yellow spring

FMIC

ABD Downpipe and 200cel sports cat

Blueflame catback

Forge oil catch tank

R-Tech spec 1.5 remap

Handling wise it's got:

AP Coilover

Polybushes all round inc dogbone mount

Front strut brace

White adjustable rear anti roll bar

CRN performance groove brake discs with Tarox 401 pads and dot 5.1 brake fluid

I'm after a limited slip diff as putting the power down can be tricky, especially in current weather conditions!
