Washer Bottle Split and Rear Creaking!

Featured Replies

In my bountyful wisdom, I've managed to split the washer bottle....

All I need to know is, how much is a new bottle for a vRS going to set me back? I had a quick search at the previous few topics regarding it, and theres no price on them.

Secondly, the rear has developed a creak when going over bumps (and only over bumps). It seems to be coming from both sides, but I havn't managed to climb under and have a peak.

Looks like christmas is going to be expensive for me.....already have to replace front tyres, front discs, front bushes and now a washer bottle!

your creaking sounds a lot like the anti roll bar bushes if its just over speed bumps. Good news if so, as they cost about £5 and should be straight forward to swap if you're fairly competent unlike me or cheap to get an indy to do. Not sure they're very common to fail on fabias though. I have powerflex ones atm and they creak light a right bugger

It could also be the rear console bushes, which are rather more pricey... but I think they tend to clonk/knock on the way out

No idea on the bottle, but i doubt its overly expensive. Might be a bit fiddly to fit though!

Actually, did you mean creaking from the rear? If so I had this last year and a blast of silicone PTFE spray from maplin over all the rubbery bits on the back sorted them out!

Not on a standard car surely?

Although I fixed a creak for a bit by spraying the rear underside with some sort of rubber-helping type spray thing.

Mine clunks constantly from the rear end, think it maybe something lose in the spare wheel well, worth checking it's not something in there or the tool kit worked lose.

Firstly, congratulations!!! you now have an excuse to follow my 5 Litre washer bottle conversion tutorial HERE. Alternatively you could replace like for like I suppose, but where's the fun in that :giggle:

Drop me a PM if you have any Q's on the guide.

Cold dry weather = hard creaking bushes so a good spraying of warmed up `Waxoyl or similar cavity wax will prevent creaking. Try ptfe spray as well but this will only last a couple of days, waxoyl will last longer.

I'm aware that the SEAT Ibiza and VW Polo share a lot of common parts with the Skoda Fabia, is the washer bottle one of them? only because theres not really a Skoda dealer local to me, but I do have a VW and a SEAT dealer round the corner :)

Try them with the part numbers for the washer bottles in my guide, chances are they can still order them for you even though they are "skoda" parts
