iPod interface

Featured Replies

I've just got myself a nice Syphony CD H/U from a helpfull forum member and I'd like to add an I-Pod connection to it.

I've seen the usual Connects2 leads, which connect via the CD changer plug in the back of the H/U.

Then I found one of these -

It looks like these units (not sure which of the top 2 I'd need?) let you keep the CD changer, which would be a bonus.

It's £25 more than the Connects2 but it'd be worth it if I could keep the changer in the boot.

Has anyone used one? If so, what's it like?

I've got my eye on one of these too.

I have fitted one to our Mk5 Golf (just the basic iPod kit, not the USB/SD card compatible one) and it performs faultlessly - you do need to arrange your music into just 6 playlists then the whole iPod can be listened to, the xcarlink will also charge the iPod at the same time.

Would i buy another? yes but i would get the USB/SD card one to make it a bit more futureproof, however i bought mine from an eBay shop for less than £50 delivered (IIRC it was around £45?) so i am not complaining.
