is this any good for the mk1 vrs?

Featured Replies

yep thats fine for the mk1 the only thing i would say is go and buy a different filter as the one that comes with is complete crap so buy the k&N filter and use that pipe

Yep, exact same as I run.

I would reccomened a different connector hose and definately a reputable filter. Both are poor on the ebay item, but the pipe itself is spot on.

Agree, get the kit but buy a K&N or a Apexi cone filter. These work well

which k&n filter will fit in the end? cheers

Its 70mm ID you want.

Element Diameter is limited by the horns so unless you wanna remove them don't go much bigger than i think 140mm?

Height you're pretty much free on, loads of room.

Thats the one i have also. my mounting brackets did line up so it is only held on by one bracket on the inner wing, but it holds it well and no problems so far

so which size? ive just been given two different ones?

INNER diameter, i.e where filter meets pipe 70mm

OUTER diameter, i.e. the diameter of the element itself is limited as to whether you wanna remove horns or not. Mine is 140mm and i had to remove one of the horn bodies (one bolt)

HEIGHT i.e. the depth of the element is pretty much free within reason

As Keefe states you need a cone filter that has a fitting diameter for a 70mm alloy pipe. So that is your starter. Most cones that will fit a 70mm pipe will be the correct cone diameter to fit behind the bumper area you need. Especially if you are going for something like K&N / Green / Apexi etc.

The wider part of the cone filter is the bottom section that Keefe is referring to that is 140mm. This has nothing to do with the fitting diameter to the alloy pipe

Yes will be no problem.....

A few folks stick with that standard cone anyway.
