I've recently bought a second hand Symphony CD head unit from another forum member but I'm a little stuck trying to find an I-Pod adaptor for it.

All the pictures on the net of the I-Pod connector plugs are either crappy library photos or too small to be able to see it properly.

This is the unit I've got -

It has the standard ISO plug on the back and just above the ISO plugs there is a 17 pin plug.

Is this the CD changer plug? Or even better, can someone point me in the right direction of an I-Pod connector?

I don't want to spend £20 getting it un-locked if it's not going to be any good.

I've got a Dension ICE link plus connected to my Symphony CD. It plugs in to the CD changer connection on the back using the blue mini iso plug.

Got mine from another eBay seller but this is the same. I put the docking cradle in the glovebox, out of sight. Works great.

Thanks for the reply mate, does the top plug on the back of my unit look correct for that fitting?

It is not too clear on the first one, but I THINK it may be the correct plug. He said he had it connected to a Blaupunkt CD30 but I don't know what connection they have on the back. Maybe try asking the seller to take a picture of the connector for you.

The second one is for a Golf Mk4 so will fit the Symphony CD, BUT it doesn't appear to have the docking cradle just a cable.

The Dension iPod link comes up fairly often on eBay so don't rush in and buy the wrong one.

The connections on the back of the Symphony tape unit are the same as the Symphony CD.
