vrs or scout?

Featured Replies

:dull: Just for a bit of peoples opinions really . Have just recently bought a 1.9 tdi fabia elegance mainly for the 100 mile a day trip to and fro work and can honestly says it is brilliant . We live in the Loch lomond and trossachs national park in western scotland so the 50 mile trip each way to work is mountains alongside lochs and not a single traffic light or camera . The roads around the ' Rest and be Thankful'as it is called are beautiful and stunning the only problem is getting to them .. Now i love driving and i think the new vrs estate looks good but with this recent bad weather (no snow today ) but cold would the scout be more practical??? I was going to wait until the superb estate 4x4 came out as we have two big dogs and two children 5 and 8 weeks but seeing the price hmmm i dont think so .. any thoughts???

Or a Yeti....

I think that living where your are, having a family with dogs county parks out door life etc then a 4x4 type of estate is probably the best for you. A superb 4x4 would do nicely but you say it is expensive how expensive?

we would want the 170 4x4 elegance i think or even the 3.2 petrol just to have that enjoyment have also looked at the 530 tourer or quite like the 3.2 r36passat second hand for both we would look to spend about 20 thousand and on the dtd can get both vrs and scout with the otpions we want for that new i think the superb is nearer 28000 or more ... We have an old 2 liter mondeo 10 years old so that is plugging along so another option is to leave that for a bit.. the only problem we have is test driving cars or getting to the garages where we got our fabis from is about 50 miles away but with a ferry journey in as well in fact every car garage has that in to get to so we really need to know befotre going over to test drive , the local one where we bought is small and doesnt have a wide selection to test drive at any one time

:'(

If you don't need the clearance or the rough and tumble clobber of a Scout/4x4 and it's simply an issue of wanting 4wd for traction then why not just wait till the Superb Estate has been out for a wee while and pick up a nearly new or ex-demo with a nice reduction off the brand new price. Or equally with a budget like yours why not get a second hand Audi A6 or A4 Avant Quattro?

Cheers buddy am one of those people that change their mnd every day , like the vrs but equally like the look of the scout but the superb makes sense. we had an a6 estate and was very unreliable all be it about 5 years ago and vowed never to go back and only ended up keeping it for 6 months.. best car we had was the t5 volvo estate family size and this skoda is doing pretty good for the works car

thanks again for the advice everyone
