Strange goings on with side light

Featured Replies

Had my 07 VRS Octy for 6 weeks now. Luuuuvvvvvvv it!

When I got it, the following day the passenger side light went. Not a problem, bulb was inexpensive and easy to fit ( especially after finding the 'how to' thread on here).

Now last night after work, get in the car and the driver's side is away, think ok it's just my donald duck, will get it replaced at the weekend. Then... get in to go to work this morning and the side light works again, fine, no warning light on the dash.

???? Electrical fault ???? Just the -10 weather ???? :S

Warranty nearly up, only a few months left. Should I get it in? Pain in the rear as my dealer is miles away and I do silly miles to work every weekday.

Could be a dodgy connection, have a look inside the holder and see what the metal contacts are like, also make sure the bulbs are secure in their holders as well.

If the bulb failure circuit isn't happy with the current draw on the bulb it will simply turn it off, putting the ignition back on should reset it hence why the bulb came back on.

If you bought the W5Ws as a pair you may as well change them both at the same time.

It could be a poor earth....
