i got a standadr symphony stereo in me mk1 ovty vrs abd as of late the cd player has stopped working any suggestions i took the cd cassette from the boot to see if the unit had power and that works fin eit's the stereo just wont switch over to cd mode any help woulkd be greatly appreciated.

Is it saying anything such as no magazine etc? Mine did this and was fixed by removing the magazine and blowing into the changer, the amount of dust inside was incredible.

no nothing mate whenever i press the button to play the cd nothing happens at all ???

Mines has just started to do the same. No message just nothing, no power at the cd casette either when I press the button in the changer. I havnt used it in a while as just connect my phone instead but now thats bust so need tunes again. Previously I had various issues including the water pipe disconnected that caused blue corrosion on the plugs and i seemed to have a loose red power wire which was cleaned and glued back in and was working well till now, everything is dry . the lead is connected the red wire still in situ so..............confused . com

Well I have a changer forsale in the forsale section if you need a new one.

cheers but it was working before I stopped using it in prefferance to my phone with mp3's so really just looking for possible solutions to fix it, but will bare that in mind thanks.
