Leon Cupra front subframe

Featured Replies

Evening all

Im looking at doing the LCR rack conversion next month at the same time that i do the R32 FARB change,

ive managed to locate a quick rack, but its still attatched to the front subframe, with the leon anti roll bar etc all still there.

Im wondering if it would be easier to leave the rack attatched to the subframe, and then replace the ARB and all the components i have, and then simply replace the whole front subframe?

I dont suppose anyone can shed any light on this?

Thanks in advance

cheers guys, im thinking about just fitting the ARB straight to the spare subframe with rack on it, then just switching the 2.

straight swap, or opening a can of worms?

hi mate,

in process of doing this to mine........just taking me forever!!!

I bought a secondhand subframe to fit alongside my tt wishbones quickrack r32 front arb etc, i figured it would be easier to build the 'new' subframe off the car then just take off the old stuff and refit. Bowders is right they are the same basically. Might be worth getting a lower tt strut brace too whilst its off the car....would be rude not to really!

Cupra arb is different but should all be the same otherwise iirc, just as you said take off old arb and fit new one.

Just remember a lot of the bolts are meant to be one use, so i bought all new from skoda, have a huge pile of bolts cost me about £40 too!

Yeah I have all the bolts that I need for the subframe etc for when I do my arb, haha talking of strut braces I only

fitted mine yesterday, so I'll be needing new cup washers if I go

down that route then!
