Been thinking of buying a new 1.4TSI DSG petrol Octavia and would be grateful for any opinions on this car. How smooth is the auto gearbox? What sort of fuel consumption can I expect? And would be grateful for any other comments.

I can't comment on the octy 1.4Tsi DSG but my wife has a Vw golf 1.4Tsi 140 bhp (think the octy is 120bhp afaik) but it's a cracking engine,

No complaints whatsoever and never missed a beat.... touches wood!!!

In fact there's been quite a few posts about the 1.4TSI and DSG combo lately and if memory serves it's all been positive feedback that this makes a great combination
