De-cat pipe

Featured Replies

hi buddy if you put that on your car the engine light will come on.....or if you get the lamda sensor and the other sensor mapped out.....or you can buy that pipe and weld in a 100 cell cat,,,,,,where did you get your remap done? and is it better....as am after mine doing......

Yeah nice one there so much better remapped, yep what vrsjaw says regarding that decat pipe.

Talking of cat's i see that Jetex do universal sports cats would this be any good, i was thinking of getting a 200cel to replace the standard one, would it fit ok and whats the standard pipe size? This is the next thing on my list, i know the way to go is downpipe and sports cat with full system but ive not got that sort of money to spend at the moment.

So i was thinking sports cat or a cat back system whats the best way to go? sorry for hijacking the thread. Thanks.

FYI, it's not unknown for 100cell cats to throw a CEL: For sure a decat pipe will throw one (and probably fail the MoT). Get the 200cell cat.

High Flow or No Catalytic Converter Issues

Use of a high flow after market catalytic converter or the complete removal of the unit from your exhaust can cause the rear O2 sensor to trigger the CEL light of code P0420. This error typically means that the cat if you've got one is not working at the level the ECU expects. What can you do about it? Some tuners offer "Test Pipe" files for "Off Road use only", this programming ignores the error and does not trigger the CEL. Another means is the use of a spacer to move the rear O2 sensor further from the exhaust gas flow (Read this thread for instructions).

*NOTE* - The OEM cat is NOT a restrictive point and can be cut and welded onto even a 3" pipe for use in any custom or purchased exhaust.
