Service Interval ?

Featured Replies

Got my VRS last May, when i checked its said next service due 39000 miles. I Forgot to read or on 21/5/09 whichever comes first. When i start the car it flashes service for a few seconds and then goes out. Is it die for a service, should the warning sign stay on?

I am going to change the oil anyway but not sure if its due a service

Have a look in the book mate and see if its had the brake fluid changed? if its not been done for a few year then Id get that done too.

Look in the boot under the mate mate, there should be a sticker with lots of numbers on it, at the bottom left of it there will be either QG1 or QG2. 1 is longlife upto 20k/2 year, 5w30 oil 2 is 10k/1yr 10w40 iirc

Hi

The brake fluid was done one the last service around 14 months ago. Will check the sticker to see if i am on a longlife service and let you know. Many Thanks

If your sure that longlife oil went in and everything was done properly last time then an oil and filter change will be fine and a general check over of the car. might wanna check the air filter too. then get the car serviced properly next time a nd alternate it.

thats what I might do but I have the hang of doing it myself now as with the haynes manual its a doddle.

If it wasn't explicitly set to variable service it's long-overdue one. I've had to go a few days past on mine, and can tell you that the warning clears off the display when you start the engine.
