Windscreen wiper malfunction!

Featured Replies

I shut my bonnet yesterday and the front wipers started going! They only stopped when I turned the engine off!!

Also, when I put my foot down or pull off a little jerky my back wiper goes off once or twice.

I have a 2003 vrs

Any non-technical ideas welcome!!! It is under warranty for 3 months but can't be bothered to take it back if I can fix it myself simply.

I have a wiper problem which i posted on here a few weeks ago. Most of the replies said to try disconnecting the rear wiper and that normally sorts out the front ones. Mine, however, doesn't have a rear wiper. I think mine is the relay.

thanks andy, I've had a read and will try my best this weekend!!

I disconnected the back wiper and put it back on again and the problem persists. I wouldn't even attempt to try the other option!!

Any other simple ideas? I'd like to be able to help the garage to sort the problem so they don't keep my car too long! It's under warrantee so I don't have to pay.

The vrs has been back to the garage and they had to replace the rear wiper motor as it was blocked.

Also just for everyones information my front windscreen blower wasn't performing as it should. The garage found leaves blocking the pollen filter which were causing the problem.

Thanks for your help with this topic.

Thought you said you'd tried disconnecting the rear wiper motor and it didn't help?

I didn't try it without the rear wiper because I knew that it was under warrantee and could be replaced.

When I put the rear wiper back on the problem was still there you see. While it is covered I would prefer stuff to be replaced instead of a quick fix
